How a Bag of Rice Made Me $250

The power of improvisation 💡

You’re never left with no options. One of the many lessons I learned the last year is being resourceful. In 2025, the skill I want to achieve is being resourceful. It’s not about the gear, it’s about how you use it and what you use to obtain your look. It also taught me that on every set, no matter how big or small the equipment is, they all play an important role.

Sometimes, the best camera gear isn’t camera gear at all. In this video, I share how a simple bag of rice saved my photoshoot—proving that creativity, resourcefulness, and a tight budget can lead to the best solutions. Whether it’s stabilizing a shot, propping up equipment, or finding unexpected uses for everyday objects, this is a reminder that filmmaking isn’t just about the gear, it’s about how you use what you have.

When you’re left with no options, being resourceful will overcome that!

However, the biggest lesson I learned about being budget-friendly is that there comes a cost of time.
